Located in Northamptonshire, Great Britain, Silverstone circuit is globally known as the home of British Grand Prix and the center of the British Formula One racing. This legendary track is host to car races since 1948 and continues to be one of the more difficult tracks race car drivers ever. Since 1987, Silverstone was a fixture in the F1 circuit.
The trail crosses the border, with half of it is located in Northamptonshire, and the other half in Buckinghamshire, and takes its name from the RAF bombers Silverstone foundation on which it was built. This is a great track, extends to an impressive 5.1 km, and 17 turns to ensure that only the most skilled drivers in the sport a chance at beating this English beast.
As with many old and famous track, Silverstone offers much more than the annual F1 Championship Grand Prix races. In addition to hosting the FIA Formula One British Grand Prix, Silverstone also hosts FIM MotoGP, Formula Three, FIM Superbike, Le Mans Series, Touring Car and the Superleague Formula races among others.

Silverstone was first used as a road course in 1947 when a group of friends banded together and decided to use a flat expanse of the base as a place to show their automotive skills. After a 12-man team prepares skiers become something of a local legend, the Royal Automobile Club leased land in 1948 to develop a formal trail.
The first races were held on the basis of the original runway, but after consideration, it was decided to build the actual path to lend credibility to the site. 1949 International Trophy race was first held on a legitimate course, it was a deal over the 1951 Grand Prix.

Silverstone has evolved along with British racing in general, and became known as the home of sport across the country. Problems such as traffic jams would result in a long and frustrating commute to the race fans, but they still showed up to race without exception.
In 2009, Bernie Ecclestone has signed an agreement that ensures the British Grand Prix will be held at Silverstone for at least the next 17 years. So far, the track and remains one of the most popular on the racing circuit, and drivers always perform a full and frenzied crowd.
